Our Story

A family dream brewed to perfection

Journey from Yemen to Missouri

Born from Shared Passion

Qahwatea is a family-run business founded by Moe Safi, Hamzah Alshami, and Tiger Safi. What started as a conversation over Thanksgiving dinner blossomed into a beautiful reality.

"We joined forces and created a Yemeni coffeeshop. We both love coffee, we've known each other for such a long time, and every time we go out of town, we always check out a new coffee shop," Safi explains.

"Qahwatea" is a beautiful wordplay between Arabic and English. In Arabic, 'Ti' means "my," and when combined with "Kahwa" (coffee), it translates to "my coffee" in English.
